OK, I have a reason to bitch about the worst airlines in Tripoli and what they think they are providing, because I would NOT call it service AT ALL....
Let's not mention Alitalia; because they are closing down "Alhamduliallah" Thank Goodness because honestly they were the worst out of all, you call in the numbers they have advertised everywhere NO ONE picks up! you walk in the office you get a grumpy old man telling u to take a number and sit ur a** down for the next 3 hours and MAYBE you get called in....well, at least they are better than Emirates not having A SIGN or a freaking old man to tell you to take a number, they should hire an old man, the Emirates's tickets machine is actually sitting on one of da tables on the waiting area, so you have to be Dorra the Explorer and find it yourself to get yourself a freaking number...the second question comes in mind, HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I AM NEXT, normally they'd have an electronic screen that shows which number is next, but no no no, that's way toooo advance for Emirates Airlines to have up, they actually keep yelling at each other "menno elli ba3da" who's next, so if you are an old person, they are most likely going to miss you, that's what I've witnessed today, an older man was sitting down with number 1 on his hand and they'r already helping the guy with number 5!!!!!!!!!!!
that brings me to the third observation I made at the Emirates today....there were 9 agents, ONLY 3 were doing real work!!!! ok! let me take you back why I went there to start with...is because I've been calling them for 2 days and NO ONE is answering me, so they'r competing with Alitalia on that one I believe....this morning a lady answered and she said let me put you through our phone department "they specialize on answering phones" I wonder how many ppl working there, so I had to go in person and the chaos started.....so out of the 9 agents only 3 doing real work, and the other 6 are just hanging out pretending busy "my favourite was the one I named him "elhdraz"" mashallah you can see all of his teeth and ehadriz m3a hada o hadika o shadha loggni....so to make the story short, I was really PISSED, why? because the people working there looked clueless to me, looked very distracting very incompetent, when there number one priorty is the freaking customers sitting on their asses for hours to buy a stupid ticket, I mean com'on let's face it, when you are as big as Emirates, the least thing you want is bitching customers...train your people properly and MAKE SURE that they'r providing I don't want to say "excellent" but decent services to those who keeping you in business "i.e. CUSTOMERS"
so to leave you on a good note, I'll tell you on which airlines I get excellent service at "British Airways, and KLM"
the rest is CRAP absolute no point of being in the city with such crappy service

Wook you reminded me of my bad experinces with these two crappy airlines , for me the worst is alitalia not only because of their crappy office with the old man that I will shoot one day but with their airport and airplane crapy service too
Emirates office is just like you described it and I got in a fight with a man there cos he took my turn and I went and sat next to him and I told the Emirates agent it's my turn the guy made a big scene saying I came here first but I didn't know I had to take a number bla bla bla I didn't even look at him and gave my papers to the agent :D
I wonder how many times people get mixed up there because if there is one thing Emirates know about Libyans is that no one wait for his turn unless he had to

The best way to get tickets are through the internet and DaMoon I am sure you could get them sent directly to your office :) ........ yeah i know here comes the "Nerd" comment ....... but its much easier and secure :)

Now to Alitalia,when i was working in my previous job, i was responsible for booking the tickets, o weeeeen ya tara?? 7azzar fazzar??? Alitalia!!! so i have my share of Hatred towards them! and yeaaa, whats up with them not pickin up their phones???? they are an airline company...how are ppl supposed to contact them otherwise? ان لله فى خلقه شؤون , that's all i can say!!!

For that reason I deal with agencies sister :o) same prices better services, I don't get that crap from the airlines I get my tickets from an agent wayyyy easier.. and no 7arg damm

I only went to the Emirates Airlines once..... I walked in saw a long line then walked straight out :D. As for Alitalia I've had a bad childhood experience with them so I don't go to them at all ( or Italy anymore )..... I stick to Lufthansa or BA.....
Hmmm Damnoon, I'm really surprised. I have never experienced such lousy treatment when dealing with Emirates. In my opinion the people who work there are helpful. I have dealt with them dozens of times and you just need to take a number and wait for the electronic screen (yes last time I was there, January, it was there) to display your number and thats it. I just make sure I get there early in the morning to avoid the crowds. And they even call you a day b4 the flight to confirm. The only thing I dont like about the staff there is el loggni ezzayed.
Now, if their customer service went downhill since the last time I was in Libya thats another story.
In general, I hate airlines offices, I hate buying tickets, I hate flying, I hate airports. Thats why I try to keep my traveling to a minimum.

Whilst you are on a rant get out there to the Mahari supermarket, try and get the staff there to do something for you. Or try and book a room in a hotel, pick any hotel. Same thing. No service because no proper training. None of these employees have seen how it "should" be.
OMG damoon i totally agree with u , i remember when i went with mom to buy apply for my visa " to UAE ", first the numbering thing was behind the door , " i don't know how did my mom knew that lol " and then there was only one woman who is not libyan that works with a smile and she answered all my Q's and she was soo helpful " thank GOD she was my luck lol "

Personally I have never flown emirates or alitalia so this info is handy (not like I'll ever go to Italy or UAE though :P). I gotta say though, being broke Libyan airlines has always been my (only) option :). But I love it. mum loves it too. no other airlines will let you take 90 kilos as baggage in return for a few baklawa's at the check in lololol.. and not to mention the hustle and bustle of Libyan families and kids.. Libyan planes in the air are very homely.. I remember we used to play frisbee in the plane in 1992.. all the men would sit next to each other and the women would move and sit togethor and natter away.. and the airplane becomes the playground for kids...
